Lawmakers offer clashing opinions on Russian Federation question

The head of a U.S. congressional panel investigating allegations of Russian interference with the nation's election says there is no evidence of such accusations.

Nunes' committee is investigating alleged Russian interference in the presidential election, as well as leaks from the intelligence community.

Representative Devin Nunes, chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, said Friday that the Justice Department had "fully complied" with the panel's request for any materials related to Trump's wiretapping claim.

When asked if there was any evidence backing up Trump's claim, Cotton said: "Not that I've seen, and not that I'm aware of", on CNN's "State of the Union".

FBI Director James Comey is expected to be asked about Mr Trump's claims when he testifies the public hearing.
