Based on a recent rumors, the game will not only be released on PS4 and Xbox One, but Ubisoft will allegedly also be releasing the next Assassin's Creed installment on the Nintendo Switch.

The only official word we have heard from Ubisoft on the next Assassin's Creed game is that it has a "Huge Potential" to revolutionize the IP. And this time it is the Swiss online store Alcom that has listed among its products Assassin's Creed Empire, a name that was rumored for this title, suggesting its launch for this year in October 2017.

No other details about the game were included in the listing but it backs up rumours that have been circulating for the previous year that the next Assassin's Creed game would be called Empire and set in Egypt. The date could be just a place holder until the actual date comes out, but the last Assassin's Creed game was released in October, too. Most prominent is a reddit post (now deleted) showing a screenshot of an AC protagonist standing in the doorway of a ruin or temple, accompanied by the claim this would be a game set in ancient Egypt. However what is interesting is that it pretty much confirms that Empire will be the next game in the series.
