Daughter of 'Deadliest Catch' star alleges she was molested as a child

Legal drama incoming for Deadliest Catch star Sig Hansen, who is now being accused in court of molesting his daughter almost three decades ago, based on new court documents released uncovered by the media.

"As a result of the alleged abuse, [Eckstrom] contends in a lawsuit that she battled depression, eating disorders, suicidal thoughts and other trauma throughout her childhood".

The now 28-year-old claims her father sexually abused her when she was a 2-year-old during the time her parents were going through a divorce, according to court documents obtained by the Seattle Times. "To the contrary, the information at hand suggests that Mr. Hansen has acted in a sexually inappropriate manner toward Melissa".

'This is nothing more than an old-fashioned shakedown, ' he told the newspaper.

According to Melissa Eckstrom's lawyers, an agreement was almost reached previous year in which Hansen would have paid $1.5 million to his estranged daughter.

Hansen, whose real name is Sigurd Jonny Hansen, has said that the claims made were "completely frivolous" and "an old fashioned shakedown".

Hansen, the crab boat captain made famous by the Discovery Channel documentary TV show, is being sued in court by his daughter, Melissa Eckstrom. Memories of being in a room alone with my father and crying out in pain, ' she wrote in the court declaration.

She even added that she remembers saying: "daddy puts his finger in my potty-pot". She is also quoted in the 1990 documents as saying "daddy hurt my bottom", and that he poked her with his "big peepee".

In her filing is a copy of a diagram she drew during a counseling session, with characters named "mommy" and "daddy" and arrows pointing to various areas, including one indicating "potty pot".

Eckstrom said that she wants her day in court to get justice for the wrong that was committed against her.
