ARSENE WENGER is ready to sign a new contract and extend his managerial career at Arsenal, according to reports. I doubted it more before the FCB game, strangely. To quit on a low is not Wenger.

Asked why he thought Wenger would stay, Pulis replied: "Because he told me". After Saturday's defeat to West Brom, Wenger admitted he made up his mind about his future, but did not make it public.

The Frenchman's contract expires at the end of the current campaign and he was widely expected to walk away from the club after 21-years of service.

Arsenal followers staged protests before the recent home matches against Bayern Munich and Lincoln City over the apparent lack of success enjoyed by the club in recent times with their last Premier League title 13 years ago. We want to play in the Champions League next season.

Despite pressure from a vocal section on Arsenal fans, reports claim that Arsene Wenger is set to remain as Arsenal manger. "It's good today. You say anything and everybody takes it without checking any information".

Arsenal sit fifth in the table and Wenger now faces a fight to maintain his record of always finishing in the top four in each of the 20 full seasons he has been at the helm.

'I take a bigger perspective than that.

"If they finished outside the top four it would be a nightmare but it might give him the best chance of winning the Premier League, just look at Chelsea and how well they've done without Champions League football". 'It's not the last result that will decide what I will do.

But despite that pro-Wenger message, the majority of Arsenal fans will be outraged if he is still their manager come the start of next season. I'm judged enough and I'm not a judge so I can't answer.

That was followed by another plane with a pro-Wenger banner, but he still suffered the ignominy of travelling fans singing "you don't know what you're doing" near the end of the game.
