April the giraffe is 'very moody,' something that is 'a good thing'

In a post on the park's Facebook page, they write: "Any of you watching this early morning witnessed some attractive moments between mom and her belly".

In a Sunday morning update, officials posted to Facebook saying, "Keepers have noted a calming down of the calf and April carrying everything a bit towards the rear". Commenters said she seemed uncomfortable.

Meanwhile, the snowstorm that has forced April and her mate Oliver to stay inside dumped 3 feet of snow in the park, and the park thanked volunteers for helping them shovel all of that snow. She has never felt or seen more activity within.

The giraffe's pregnancy is moving along and her belly has dropped noticeably, according to Animal Adventure Park zookeepers.

Animal Adventure Park's Giraffe Cam feed is now entering its fourth week as April comes to the end of her incredible 15-month pregnancy.

They said the calf had been performing "giraffe karate". "April is also eating everything in sight". When the calf is born, there will be a vote to determine his or her name.

April is 15 years old and has previously birthed three calves; she has never lost a calf nor had a stillborn - an impressive run of reproductive success.
