Now the company has happily obliged by unveiling the Radeon Vega Frontier Edition.

AMD is touting performance at around 26 teraflops of half-precision FP16, or roughly 13 teraflops of single-precision FP32.

The important thing to note is that the Vega Frontier Edition isn't denoted as an "RX" card, which indicates where AMD is targeting the inaugural Vega GPU. The first Vega product to be released has a name, it has a design, and it has performance figures.

The latest chip is 27% faster than NVIDIA GTX Titan XP and it is possible that it will overtake the HEDT market in near future. "Infinity Fabric is the secret sauce within each of our products that allows us to bring together our leadership x86 CPUs and graphics in an efficient way to deliver breakthrough products to meet the needs of the most demanding workloads". Vega FE Gold features a sealed liquid cooler, similar the one used on the Fury X. It's not yet known if performance between the two cards will differ (at the very least, the Gold version will sustain its boost speeds for longer due to better cooling), but both will certainly suck down power. Vega FE is set for a late June release. It may not be what most people were expecting but it's still an interesting card nonetheless. We know how eager you are to get your hands-on Radeon RX Vega, and we're working extremely hard to bring you a graphics card that you'll be incredibly proud to own. However, it does show that Vega will be built on the 14nm and 14nm+ fabrication process, before Navi makes the jump to 7nm.
