He backed Republican presidential nominee John McCain in 2008, angering many of his former Democratic colleagues by endorsing him at the Republican National Convention. He has served as co-chairman of No Labels, a centrist group that promotes bipartisanship.

Mr. Keating, 73, served as Oklahoma governor from 1995 through January 2003, and oversaw the state's response to the Oklahoma City federal-building bombing in 1995.

Gore/Lieberman ended up losing the 2000 presidential election to then-presidential candidate George W. Bush and candidate for vice president, Dick Cheney.

On May 9, Trump fired Comey on the recommendation of Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.
