The sketch began with cast member Aidy Bryant playing Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the White House aide who subbed for Spicer for a few days last week. You may have missed it if you didn't watch it closely, but SNL also poked fun at Trump's close ties to Putin with a doll of the shirtless Russian president as well.

Bryant announced "Sanders" was filling in for "Spicer", but it's quickly pointed out that McCarthy is watching from the bushes.

In a second, longer sketch, "SNL" host Melissa McCarthy reprised her take on White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer, complete with him hiding in the bushes, a references to a recent Washington Post account. The scene was later broadcast in a pre-taped sketch Saturday night. Because we all can't get enough of McCarthy's Spicey.

On Saturday night, it all came to a climax with McCarthy hosting and Baldwin reprising his Trump role.

Outside of the press pool room, Spicer is seen hiding in bushes.

After talking with Trump for a while - and being reassured that he had only been asked to lie "since you started working here", the President then told Spicer he wouldn't be replaced because no one has his "special spice".

McCarthy's Spicer heckled each reporter after they spoke and refused to connect the president with Russian Federation.

Things got physical this time in the White House press briefing spoof.

Despite Spicer's reluctance to agree, the press secretary made a decision to go to NY and find out from the President himself whether or not he's been lied to. That's followed by "James Comey" as Jake the Dog from Cartoon Network's Adventure Time.

"Let me just put this whole Russian thing to bed once and for all: Trump is innocent", Spicer told the press. "I'm telling you exactly what President Trump told me", the press secretary said. McCarthy's Spicer asked Trump, played by Alec Baldwin. "I swear I'll talk better". "It's ok, I'm famous".

"Is this like The Godfather when you kiss me and no-one ever sees me again?" asks Spicer.

Next week is the show's season finale, with Baldwin already locked down to play Trump.
