Their father Cecil Eugene Kutz, 39, was arrested on Wednesday after police went to the home in Pottsville, Pennsylvania after receiving a tip.

Police did not say what Kutz's relationship with the children was, but their mother was in the hospital recovering from the recent birth, The Morning Call reported.

The mother was taken to a hospital and underwent surgery, but medical staff thought it was particularly odd the parents came without a baby. He remained jailed Thursday and didn't yet have an attorney.

State police in Schuylkill Haven accuse Kutz of leaving the children alone for at least 40 minutes, court records say.

The baby was rushed to hospital for evaluation and all three children were taken into the care of the county's Children and Youth Services. - A newborn, a baby and a toddler were found home alone in Pennsylvania Wednesday.
