Stephen Curry delivered 29 points, seven rebounds and seven assists in just three quarters as the Warriors crushed the San Antonio Spurs, 136-100 to take a 2-0 lead in the Western Conference finals. At the end of one quarter, the Warriors led 33-16. The Warriors' 72 first-half points were tied for their second most in a postseason game in franchise history, and their 23 assists through two quarters established a new franchise record for assists in a playoff half.

Meanwhile, the San Antonio Spurs needed to come out with guns blazing after the heartbreaking loss in Game 1, but they came out flat and absolutely paid for it as they found themselves down by double digits in a blink of an eye.

The Spurs high-scorer was Jonathan Simmons, with a career-high 22 points.

Game 3 is Saturday night at AT&T Center in San Antonio at 9 PM E.T., the long gap created to account for the Spurs' possible Game 7 in the previous series against Houston. They're up 2-0 in this series, and the Warriors are better, especially if and when the Spurs don't have Kawhi Leonard on the floor-and Leonard wasn't out there for Game 2 on Tuesday, so the revelation was not surprising.

The Warriors were 10-point home favorites in Game 1, and the betting line jumped up to 13 points in Leonard's absence in Game 2. Game 3 isn't until Saturday, but there's still no telling whether Leonard will be ready to go.

State police in Schuylkill Haven accuse Kutz of leaving the children alone for at least 40 minutes, court records say. The father Cecil Kutz remains in Schuylkill County prison on $25,000 straight cash bail.

Warriors reserve Patrick McCaw took advantage of 27 minutes of playing time to chip in with 18 points.

LaMarcus Aldridge was particularly terrible, scoring just eight points on 4-of-11 shooting, adding four rebounds, three assists, and two blocks. "I don't think they started the game with a belief". The wounded Spurs were without their star forward and starting point guard, so you figured a road clunker could be in the offing. "He goes: 'I'm sitting here and I see this black Range Rover, I see all these cops surrounding them". "They upped their defensive pressure, and we kind of got rattled from that, not knowing what to go to and being organized".

ABOUT THE SPURS: Leonard originally suffered the injury in the last round and aggravated the ankle by stepping on the foot of one of his own teammates on the bench earlier in Game 1 before landing on Pachulia and leaving the contest.

"We're down 2-0 and this game is critical for us". Johnson started Game 3 but played only five minutes before missing the rest of the series.

"If you need extra motivation in the Western Conference finals", Green said, "you've got another problem on your hands". And you want to know if our chances our less, and you want to know how we feel? The former D-League player has been able to contribute solid postseason minutes for San Antonio, displaying growth and adding the hope that he could be a bigger contributor for the Spurs moving forward regardless how this series finishes up.
