Unite leader backtracks on claim that 200 seats would be Labour 'success'

The General Election could determine if the United Kingdom continues to exist, Kezia Dugdale warned, as she urged people in Scotland to reject the nationalist politics offered by the SNP and the Conservatives.

She told BBC Radio Scotland: "I hope he is wrong, I want to see a Labour government across the whole of the United Kingdom, that's what I'm spending every waking moment of my day campaigning for".

Mr Corbyn was quoted as saying earlier in the campaign that he would stay on whatever the result of the election, citing the mandate he has from his leadership victories in 2015 and 2016.

Labour has also said it would return the railways to public ownership as franchises expire, or in some cases using franchise reviews or break clauses.
