Angela Bassett Joins Tom Cruise in 'Mission: Impossible 6'

According to Deadline, Angela Bassett has just joined the movie as the Central Intelligence Agency director, which I assume means she will be a good-minded civil servant who goes after Ethan Hunt and his team due to false intel sent to her by the bad guys. The Golden Globe-winning actress will play Ethan Hunt's (Tom Cruise) new Central Intelligence Agency director, though the character's name hasn't yet been revealed.

McQuarrie is producing alongside Tom, Frederick, Don Granger, J.J. Abrams and David Ellison and Dana Goldberg from Skydance Productions.
