Gylfi Sigurdsson set for £25million Tottenham return

Sigurdsson's nine goals and 13 assists have been crucial for Swansea's survival in the top flight this season and the Iceland worldwide won the club's Player of the Year award for the second consecutive season on Wednesday.

Gylfi Sigurdsson will be better off at Swansea if he is to have a repeat of his experience at Tottenham, warns Paul Clement.

Well, while the quotes from the player were defiant, Everton boss Ronald Koeman will know that he can offer Sigurdsson European football and a regular spot in his side next season - similarly to West Ham and Newcastle - and it is doubtful that this is the last we will hear about the Iceland global this summer.

Swansea City playmaker Gylfi Sigurdsson has insisted that he is "very happy" in South Wales and does not want to leave.

Manager Ronald Koeman has seemingly become frustrated with the situation and has left the midfielder with an ultimatum - sign a new deal or be prepared to leave in the summer.

"He has a lot of ambition and I can understand that".

The 27-year-old, who was named players' and supporters' player of the year on Wednesday for a second straight season, is an instrumental player in the Swansea lineup and as such has been linked to the likes of Everton and West Ham.

In what has been a hard season for Swansea City, one standout highlight has been the performances of midfielder, Gylfi Sigurdsson.

"Even though Barkley is entering the final year of his contract, Everton should still expect to get £25million for him". "I'm very happy here".

I'm not trying to leave or want to leave. "It's just very calm and I'm not focused or concentrating on what people are writing".

'I think it'll continue to be like that because whatever happens, happens'.

He said: "You only have to look at the coaching staff who came in". A player of Sigurdsson's huge quality should be fighting near the top of the table rather than the bottom, which he presumably would have more chance of doing at Everton, and Clement knows the former Tottenham star has a decision to make.

"I think for as long as he's here the club is in really good hands".

"A lot of players have to make that decision in their careers", he said.
