Teens Arrested in Killing of Boy, 6

Dwan Wakefield, McBride and D'Allen Washington were taken into custody Thursday and booked into the Madison County Detention Center.

Mississippi Bureau of Investigation launched the search Thursday morning, after Kingston Frazier, 6, was seen in a stolen vehicle taken from a Kroger on I-55 North in Jackson. Police say a "person of interest" is in custody and authorities are searching for a second person.

The boy's uncle said he was sleeping in the auto when his mother went inside the store. Guest says the other two do not yet have lawyers. He also said he is a former member of the football team.

"When a child is taken, we pull all resources available to us".

A boy in MS was found dead hours after he was the focus of an Amber Alert. Today was the day of his promotion ceremony at North Jackson Elementary.

"When we found out later that there was a child in the back, we immediately notified the highway patrol [who] put out an Amber Alert", Hinds County Sheriff Victor Mason said. "The bereaved family is in our prayers as we continue to seek justice for Kingston".

Kingston's family members were not informed of the tragedy until after police held a news conference.

There are no words to express the anger and sadness over the loss of Kingston Frazier. "It is time this senseless violence end". Jones said multiple officers responded, with the first officer arriving on scene at 1:32 a.m.

The Sheriff's Office says 18-year-old Dwan Diondro Wakefield was taken into custody on Holmes Avenue in Jackson.

Jackson police Commander Tyree Jones says 6-year-old Kingston Frazier was shot at least once after the vehicle was stolen early Thursday morning from a grocery store parking lot in Jackson.

Later in the morning, law enforcement and family pleaded with Kingston's kidnappers to bring the boy home. Capital murder charges are pending, authorities said.

Authorities did not answer questions at the news conference with reporters, and it's unclear what role each of the three suspects is alleged to have played. They face capital murder charges and are set for initial court appearances Monday morning.
