Donald Trump's alleged divulgence of highly classified information to Russia's foreign minister and ambassador, has confirmed Israel's "worst fears", an intelligence official from the Middle Eastern state has reportedly said. According to Putin, this latest accusation against Trump is "political schizophrenia". "Our job is to be responsible, sober and focus only on gathering the facts".

President Donald Trump declared himself the victim of the "greatest witch hunt" in American political history Thursday and slapped down accusations he tried to quash a probe into collusion between his campaign team and Russian Federation.

"I believe it hurts our country terribly because it shows we're a divided, mixed-up, not unified country", Efe quoted Mr. Trump as saying.

Another report by CNN states that the Senate intelligence committee has put in a request to be told what was said during the meeting between Trump and Lavrov. A day before Comey's meeting with Trump, Flynn had been ousted for what the White House said were misleading accounts of his conversations with Russia's US ambassador.

"If true, these memoranda raise questions as to whether the president attempted to influence or impede the FBI's investigation as it relates to Lt. Gen. Flynn", Chaffetz wrote.

During the meeting, the president asked him to drop the FBI investigation, Comey's memo said. He will also have the authority to investigate any links or coordination between the Russian government and associates of the Trump presidential campaign as well as any other matter that arises directly from the investigation. Congressional investigators are seeking Comey's memos, as well as documents from the Justice Department related to the firing.

At the same time a special counsel was named, the Trump White House is trying to contain two new allegations.

House Oversight Committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz has scheduled a full committee hearing on the FBI's independence for May 24.

He also said that while he expects the agreement to be trilateral, some of the negotiations will be bilateral. Last month, White House aides spread word that Trump was ready to pull out of NAFTA.

Democrats and a number of Republicans said they wanted to hear from Comey, who was sacked last week a day before Trump met in the Oval Office with the Russian diplomats. "It also means more questions about the administration's ability to garner enough Republican, let alone bipartisan support, for the policy pledges for which investors are growing increasingly impatient". That was followed by a controversial meeting between Trump and high-profile Russian officials.

It is thought the information came from Israel through a sensitive intelligence sharing arrangement and White House officials took steps to contain the damage after the meeting, placing calls to the CIA and National Security Agency.

Israeli intelligence agents were concerned that information given to Russian Federation could be passed on to Iran, it reported. "I now have significantly greater confidence that the investigation will follow the facts wherever they lead".

Senate Judiciary Committee Ranking Member Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., called Mueller "a fine USA attorney, a great Federal Bureau of Investigation director and there's no better person who could be asked to perform this function".

In a pair of morning Twitter posts and at a later news conference, the Republican president described urgings by some on the left for his impeachment as "ridiculous" and said he had done nothing to warrant criminal charges.

"At best, President Trump has committed a grave abuse of executive power", House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi of California said in a statement.

"The last thing I'm going to do is pre-judge anything", he said said during the news conference at the Republican National Committee.

Senator Richard Blumenthal of CT, a member of the Judiciary Committee, called the memo as reported "powerful evidence of obstruction of justice".
