He became the first player in National Basketball Association playoff history with 11 straight games with at least 20 points and seven assists, finishing with 27 points (8 for 25 from the field), 12 assists and five steals.

Tied at 12-12, Washington held Boston scoreless for over five minutes while hitting 7 of 9 shots, including three 3-pointers. All of this as Gerald Green was heard proclaiming, "We are going to beat their ass in Game 4", after the Game 3 embarrassment last Thursday.

"It's probably our best stretch of basketball", Brooks proclaimed.

And on top of all of that, Wizards point guard Brandon Jennings and Celtics guard Terry Rozier were both ejected after receiving back-to-back technicals.

"We played inspired basketball for each other", Brooks told reporters after the game.

Thomas didn't take his first shot Thursday until almost four minutes into the game and didn't register his first point until a free throw with 1:22 to play in the first quarter.

"I wish I knew", Bradley Beal said. "He's a small guy so at the end of the day if you've got three players around you, how can you make the pass?"

Celtics: Horford led the team with 16 points. He briefly gave the Wizards the lead back with a driving layup. (18 points, eight rebounds), Markieff Morris (16 points, 10 rebounds) and Bojan Bogdanovic (13 points) all made their presence felt, too, giving Washington those much-needed third, fourth and fifth scoring options.

Thomas struggled getting to the rim with any type of success Sunday and aired his grievances with the officiating after his 19-point outing that did not include a free throw attempt.

The Washington Wizards will come the Boston Celtics to their home court in Game 4 without the help of backup forward Kelly Oubre, Jr. who was suspended for his noisy argument with Kelly Olynyk in the second quarter of Game 3.

There were eight technical fouls and three ejections total.

Thomas later talked about how unbalanced the calls were.

Thomas scored 33 and 53 points, respectively, in the series' first two games, but he was held to 13 points on 3-of-8 shooting during Game 3 as Washington turned up the defensive intensity and pressure.

One game into the second round, Isaiah Thomas had his tooth knocked out by an elbow from Otto Porter. He finished 7 of 14 from the field. In Game 3, they managed to force 10 turnovers in the first half alone, with six coming through Marcus Smart. With the aggressive play of the Wizards, Isaiah Thomas will have to guard any shots taken at his mouth. "But I can't be allowed to be held and grabbed every pin-down, every screen".

A symbol of the rough-and-tumble play, Thomas needed to have his dental work adjusted at halftime but missed only the first 1:40 of the third quarter. It stripped a nip-and-tuck game, turning into further confirmation that the Wizards' offense is proving diabolical opposition for the Celtics.

Boston flipped the script Sunday. Al Horford led Boston with 16 points.
