Mykhailiuk thus far has played in 97 career games for KU, averaging 6.3 points per game. For the past few weeks, Mykhailiuk was practicing at various combines and receiving feedback from National Basketball Association scouts and coaches.

"Senior year gonna be fun", Mykhailiuk wrote on his official Instagram account, followed by a string of various emojis.

Within the hour, Mykhailiuk also posted on Twitter: "Senior year".

At 6-foot-8, 191 pounds with a 6-5 wingspan, Mykhailiuk will likely benefit from being in a draft generally viewed as less stacked in terms of guard depth than its 2017 counterpart. He entered the NBA Draft without an agent and Wednesday was the deadline to stay in the draft or go back to school.

The two-time Academic All-Big 12 selection ranked eighth in the conference in three-point field goal percentage (38.9) and eighth in three-point field goals made at 1.9 per game.

Mykhailiuk is coming off a junior year that saw him average 9.8 points and 3.0 rebounds per game, doubling his minutes per game average from his sophomore season to more than 27 minutes per night this past year.

As of Wednesday - before Mykhailiuk's announcement - DraftExpress.com didn't project Mykhailiuk as a 2017 draft pick.

He will now look to lead the Jayhawks to the Final Four after two consecutive Elite Eight exits.

The wait is over, and Svi Mykhailiuk's decision is in.
