For most of Monday afternoon's NCAA Regional tilt between Texas A&M and Houston, the Aggies were cruising along, comfortably hanging on to a lead behind some top-notch pitching from Stephen Kolek.

A&M got on the board in the very first inning with a two-run single from Blake Kopetsky. After Grayson Padgett followed up with an infield single, Kolek's day was brought to an end in favor of Kaylor Chafin.

Texas A&M (39-21) is likely to host the super regional next weekend against Davidson (35-24), the No. 4 seed that swept through the Chapel Hill Regional.

Julks was the lone Cougar with multiple hits, going 2-for-4 with one home run, one run and one RBI.

Cooper Coldiron plated a run with a single to leftfield and Nick Slaughter drove in a run with a sacrifice fly to trim the lead to 4-3.

It wasn't easy as Houston rallied for two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning before A&M finished off the victory as reliever Cason Sherrod struck out Carson Wong for the game's final out with the bases loaded for the final out. Also not to be overlooked was the effort from Houston freshman Nolan Bond, who kept the Cougars in the game and at one point retired 12 of 13 batters in his first career start.

The NCAA baseball selection committee will complete the site selection process for the eight Super Regionals, including the Texas A&M vs. Davidson matchup, once all regional play concludes.
