Russian hackers ´planted false story´ behind Qatar crisis

Intelligence gathered by American authorities investigating the alleged hack told the news outlet Russian hackers were to be blamed for posting the fake news attributing false statements to Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

The broadside came as Kuwait's ruler flew to Saudi Arabia to try to resolve the split. An Omani diplomat traveled to Qatar on Monday.

On Tuesday, Sky News in Arabic reported that Saudi Arabia gave Qatar a 24-hour ultimatum to sever ties with Hamas, Muslim Brotherhood and Iran, for the measures to be lifted.

Qatar has said it will not retaliate against the curbs.

Soon the Maldives and the governments that Saudi Arabia supports in the conflicts in Yemen and Libya also severed diplomatic ties with Qatar.

Meanwhile, Mauritania on Tuesday announced that it was cutting diplomatic ties with Qatar in solidarity with its Mideastern allies.

"I think our relationship with Qatar is one that's strong".

The Gulf countries ordered their citizens out of Qatar and gave Qataris overseas 14 days to return home. The countries also said they would eject Qatar's diplomats. With the closure of the air route, the Pakistani pilgrims who were in transit got stranded in Qatar.

Qatar Airways has suspended flights to Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt and Bahrain.

"And you always say within the article itself: CIA, FBI never answered this", Lionel told RT, stressing that these kind of reports are groundless unless they offer some concrete proof.

Saudi Arabia said it revoked Qatar Airways' operating licenses and closed the airline's offices in the kingdom.
