Microsoft unveils the Xbox One X, formerly Project Scorpio

They may use the most recent developer tools or come up with different tricks to enhance their games for the new Xbox.

Let us start off with the basics- the name.

With the vibrant reception the Xbox One X enjoyed, there was also an air of a gamble that's paid off for Microsoft.

Microsoft has unveiled its forthcoming Xbox One X console and announced a November 7 release date for the device, which was formerly code-named "Project Scorpio". So the titles can still be played on the Xbox One and One S though things wouldn't be as butter smooth as on the One X. Greenberg, who sits as Microsoft's game marketing head, talked about the price of the Xbox One X during the YouTube Live coverage of the Microsoft presentation, and was more than willing to praise the $499 price tag.

The new Xbox One X looks similar in design to the XBox One S but smaller. However, what immediately stands out is the fact that it is much more compact than we expected it to be. The model that has been showcased so far, and the one that will be released initially, sports an all-black body.

Apart from the hard specs, the other aspect where the new Xbox One X has the PS4 Pro covered is its 4K UHD Blu-ray playback.

Spencer also announced that Microsoft will update its library of 385 Xbox 360 titles, that are compatible with the Xbox One console series, so that classic favourites like "Crimson Skies" will also "look better and play better", later in 2017.

On the hardware side, the Xbox One X comes with Custom CPU, which is clocked at 2.3 GHz with eight cores, Custom GPU with the clock rate of 1.7 GHz, 12GB of RAM with 326 GB/s Memory transfer speed, 8GB Flash Storage and 1TB HDD to store the games and data.

The $499 new addition, will allow for seamless play on ultra definition 4K televisions and will be available worldwide on November 7th 2017, according to Xbox team leader Phil Spencer.

Microsoft says that original Xbox game support for Backward Compatibility will launch "later this year". That also means they never experienced holding the "Duke", which is the nickname given to the huge controller the Xbox shipped with (it was also referred to as "Fatty").
