Back in 2015, Taylor Swift was one of the hottest artists of the year and when she announced that she would not be making her latest materials available for streaming, it was a pretty big deal. Either way, Spotify is the cheapest way that users can listen to music in a legal manner.

The announcement was made by Taylor Nation, the official Instagram account of Taylor's management team, on Thursday, June 8.

Swift, who pulled her songs from the streaming giant in 2014, said she wanted to put her back catalogue of songs on Spotify to "thank" her fans.

Another important event to note is that in 2014, Swift removed all of her music from Spotify, claiming that streaming devalued her music.

Perry has spoken out about the tension with her former friend.
