The former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweight competed in a boxing bout against Adam Braidwood last night (June 16). Hague's head bounced hard off the canvas as he fell.

Tim Hague is now in the hospital and his condition is critical.

In a Facebook comment, Jackie Neil, Hague's sister, said her 34-year-old brother underwent brain surgery.

So far no further updates on Hague's condition have emerged.

Realfightstories.com's Mike Russell reported on Saturday afternoon that Hague's condition had turned dire and that the fighter was declared brain dead. Hague entered the bout with Braidwood with a 1-2 overall record and was knocked out in December. Hague last fought in MMA in July 2016, losing to Michał Andryszak by knockout. Hague had a 21-13 record in MMA, including a 1-4 record inside the Octagon with his only win his only win being a submission over Pat Barry at UFC 98.
