Duncan spoke with Hodgkinson before he opened fire at the Republican congressional baseball practice, wounding five including House Majority Whip Steve Scalise.

The Daily Caller first reported that the list, found in Hodgkinson's pocket, contained the names of Alabama Rep. Mo Brooks, South Carolina Rep. Jeff Duncan and Arizona Rep. Trent Franks.

Contacted by AL.com on Friday, Brooks said he has been told to refer all questions to the Capitol Police for comment.

Scalise was fielding ground balls at second base Wednesday when he was shot at a practice for the annual Republicans-Democrats baseball game. All six congressmen are members of the House Freedom Caucus, which contains the lower chamber's most conservative members.

"I just don't know what to tell you people", she said.

The ATF also released pictures of the two types of guns that 66-year-old James Hodgkinson used in the attack shooting Representative Steve Scalise and three others. Dr. Jack Sava of MedStar Washington Hospital Center said it's a "good possibility" that the Louisiana Republican will be able to return to work in his full capacity.

Also suffering relatively minor injuries were two Capitol Police officers, David Bailey and Crystal Griner, and House GOP aide Zack Barth.

They were on their stomachs, hands cuffed behind their backs, staring up at more than a dozen law enforcement members. I'm elated, but I'm still tremendously sad about these (deceased) officers", Sills said about the capture.

Police said it was unclear whether James Hodgkinson planned to target the lawmakers on his list, which included Reps.

Police in Hodgkinson's hometown in southern IL knew the gunman, only from a history of misdemeanor crimes.

Those who crossed his path, in the weeks before the shooting remembers Hodgkinson as an angry man, who took his anti-Republican rants online before going after the GOP during baseball practice.

Scalise and lobbyist Matt Mika remained in critical condition Friday.

The Democrats won 11-2, then turned right around and gave the trophy to the Republican team to put in Scalise's office.

Hodgkinson, who was shot by police and later died, apparently had been living out of his van in Alexandria since March. "It does not surprise me at all that she would think so quickly and act so courageously".
