"Witch hunt' is how Mr Trump characterises the probe into Russia's election interference and possible ties to his campaign associates".

President Donald Trump confirmed Friday he was under investigation and appeared to take aim at a senior Justice Department official, in a tweet that seemed to encapsulate his frustration with the ongoing focus on Russia's involvement in the 2016 election.

The Trump tweets come after the top lawyer for his transition team warned organisation officials to preserve all records and other materials related to the Russian Federation probe.

Sessions told the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence under oath on June 8 that he and Rosenstein agreed during their meeting with Trump that Comey should be fired.

Mueller is investigating Russian interference in US elections and possible Russian ties to the Trump campaign.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller is investigating business and financial dealings of White House aide Jared Kushner, the Washington Post reported on Thursday, citing officials familiar with the matter.

Trump ignored shouted questions from reporters about the ongoing Russian Federation controversy as he departed the White House Friday for Miami.

A person familiar with Mueller's inquiry, speaking on condition of anonymity, said on Thursday Mueller was looking into whether Trump or others attempted to obstruct the Russian Federation investigation.

Amid stirrings earlier this week that Trump was possibly considering the idea of firing Mueller, it was Rosenstein who testified before a congressional hearing that such an act could not be taken without specific cause.

The world's number one team lost the last eight wickets for 51 runs after being comfortably placed at 116 for one at one stage. His job up front would be to cause troubles for Tamim Iqbal, who is third on the leading run-scorers list of the tournament.

US Fed raises rates, provokes caution in Indian markets
That gauge is called core Personal Consumption Expenditures, and it was up just 1.5 percent in the 12 months ending in April. The Fed also detailed a plan to unwind its balance sheet through monthly asset sales.

Death toll from London inferno rises to 58
Some Grenfell residents had warned months ago fire safety issues at the tower meant that it was at risk of a "catastrophic" event. Authorities say that 58 people are known to have died in Wednesday morning's blaze but that figure is likely to rise.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the deputy White House press secretary, referred questions about Trump's tweet to the President's private attorney, Marc Kasowitz.

"Why is that Hillary Clintons family and Dems dealings with Russian Federation are not looked at, but my non-dealings are?" he asked at one point.

The president tweeted Friday, "Despite the phony Witch Hunt going on in America, the economic & jobs numbers are great".

Mueller investigation appeared to be reaching a broadening circle of current and former officials.

Advisers to the President describe Mr Trump as increasingly angry over the investigation, yelling at television sets carrying coverage and insisting he is the target of a conspiracy.

Trump wrote that the investigation has not "been able to show any proof", an allegation that he assessed with one of his signature Twitter catchphrases: "Sad!"

He also has millions of followers on his official Facebook pages. The Washington Post reported this week that Mueller is investigating whether Trump attempted to obstruct justice when he suggested Comey drop an FBI investigation into Michael Flynn, Trump's former national security adviser, as well as when he fired Comey.

The order came the same day that Vice President Mike Pence hired an outside lawyer to represent his legal interests.

There has been no indication that Mueller told Trump to fire Comey.
