All eastbound lanes of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge reopened Sunday following an officer-involved shooting that closed all Oakland-bound lanes of traffic for several hours earlier in the morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The CHP shut down all eastbound lanes of the bridge at 4:07 a.m. and issued a Sig Alert for severe traffic.

The auto, which was not involved in the crash under investigation, ignored repeated warnings to stop as it barreled toward the officers, CHP officer Vu Williams told KRON.

The chaos began with a two-car collision about a mile west of the toll plaza around 3:35 a.m., Williams said.
