NHL: Nashville evened the score in the Stanley Cup finals

Gaudreau, a 24-year-old rookie, only has a chair in the locker room, but he now is the second player in National Hockey League history to score his first three career goals in a Stanley Cup Final, joining Johnny Harms with the 1944 Blackhawks.

He started the first 15 games of the playoffs for the Penguins, with 9 wins, two shutouts and a.924 save percentage. "If we continue to get those chances, they'll go in for us".Barry Melrose's take: Very similar to Game 3: The Predators got great goaltending."There's nothing more nerve-wracking than Stanley Cup overtime hockey", Barkley said. "He definitely belongs, and he's been a huge part of our success".

The home team is undefeated in this Stanley Cup Final - outscoring the visitor by a 24-6 aggregate - and the Predators, 9-1 at home in the playoffs, will have Bridgestone Arena behind them for Sunday's Game 6.

One of those chances was a Game 4 breakaway by Viktor Arvidsson, and he wristed that opportunity into the back of the net.

If Crosby brought his "A" game, Pekka Rinne once again brought his road game. Desperation should probably still fall on our side here where we know we've got to win a game in Pittsburgh. "It's not an injury where they tell you, 'You're done, here's your timeline, you're done for a month.' It's been about feeling good to where I can help the team as opposed to hurting the team".

"I'm not asking for catfish to go on the ice", Laviolette said. "It's no different in these Finals".

Bryan Rust then doubled the Penguins' lead 6:43 into the first period, with a wicked backhander that fooled Rinne.

Gaudreau's tally came 3:45 into the period on a wraparound, but there was no goal signal on the ice at the time. "That means not throwing anything on the ice, putting both our players and the officials in danger", Laviolette said in the video.

Brooks Koepka wins US Open, ties Rory McIlroy's scoring mark
It appeared as though Koepka and Harman were set for a memorable battle when Koepka held a one-stroke lead after the front nine. Koepka answered that challenge, posting his three consecutive birdies after sinking a tough par-saving putt on the 13th.

They also had appeared to have figured out Nashville goaltender Pekka Rinne, as they scored eight goals on 36 shots.

Rinne kept it tied in the early minutes of the second with a stop of Guentzel before a big save on Chris Kunitz on a breakaway.

Crosby didn't score in Game 5, but he set up three goals and could have easily had assisted on three more. He's played well throughout the postseason, to be fair, but his 20+ minutes of ice time a night just isn't working for the Penguins. We had a clincher a year ago at home and we didn't get it done. After going through three rounds without even registering a point, Fisher has four assists in the final. Malkin, who had gone without a shot in Game 3, had a goal and assist. Filip Forsberg is the second choice among Nashville players at plus-900. They ruled Gaudreau's wraparound attempt slid the puck just over the line before Murray stopped it, giving Nashville a 2-1 lead 3:45 into the second.

Although that advantage seems to magnified for Nashville, who have created an atmosphere both inside and outside of the arena never before seen in a Cup Final, fans have certainly been vocal in their support of the Penguins while in Pittsburgh as well. The Penguins didn't produce much in Games 1 and 2 and somehow won going away.

Across six periods in Nashville, the NHL's highest-scoring team managed to beat Rinne just twice as the Predators rallied to tie the series.

As our stats guru Dom Luszczyszyn has pointed out, teams that get outshot as badly as the Penguins are give themselves nearly no chance of winning the Stanley Cup.

Here are the listings for tonight's game, according to NHL.com.
