Palestinians to stop paying attacker families: Tillerson

U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has told lawmakers that relations with Russian Federation are still deteriorating and refused to back the senators' move to bolster sanctions on Moscow, according to Radio Free Europe.

"My caution is I wouldn't want to have ourselves handcuffed to Minsk if it turns out the parties decide to settle this through another, a different, agreement", Tillerson said as he spoke to the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

"I did not see any evidence the Palestinian Authority has stopped payments for jailed terrorists and their families", Lieberman told Israeli public radio.

"We have been very clear with them that this [practice of paying terrorists] is simply not acceptable to us", he added. "Attaching payments as recognition of violence or murder is something the American people could never accept or understand'".

The Secretary explained to committee members on Wednesday that assurances were "given to me during the President's visit to Bethlehem".

But Mr Trump's secretary of state, Rex Tillerson, says he agrees with members of Congress who want Russian Federation held accountable for its meddling in the 2016 presidential election.

"They have changed their policy", Tillerson told the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Tuesday.

The measure has been attached to a bill imposing penalties on Iran that the Senate is now debating and also has strong support. Under the legislation, new sanctions could be levied on entities engaging in "malicious cyber activity".
