"We will be donating our proceeds to charity and we apologize for any and all problems Force Hax services have caused to the Grand Theft Auto Online community". Two more mod menus - Lexicon and Menyoo - are now displaying similar messages about closing and donating their earning to charity.

First released in 2011 to modify the PC version of the mega-popular Grand Theft Auto IV, Open IV later added support for Grand Theft Auto V. It aided in the development of mods to the game, allowing enthusiasts to modify objects, models and textures. Users could generate endless amounts of cash, steal money from others, insta-kill players remotely, and much more.

On top of avenues such as Google, and various social media sites, fans have also started writing negative reviews of the game on Steam.

Grand Theft Auto V is the latest in a long line of titles that have allowed their users to be creative with a variety of mods in the single-player mode.

However, Take-Two Interactive might be tough to convince. At the end, watchers are encouraged to sign the petition and save OpenIV.

It's been a busy week at the Take-Two legal department following the cease and desist letter to OpenIV and now the GTA Online cheating tool called Force Hax. At the time of writing over 39,000 reviews have been submitted recently, with majority being classed as "Overwhelmingly Negative".

It should be clear that though the modders who make use of OpenIV may not be using the tool to impact the experience for other players online, the shutdown of modding tools by Take-Two Interactive does not distinguish between the tools that affect the multiplayer experience and those that do not. Also, a petition on change.org to retrieve the tool has already gathered more than 45,000 signatures. The petition is just now shy of 50,000 signatures.
