The first member of the Max family, the Max 8, entered service last month, flying with a Malaysian low-priced airline, Malindo Air.

As part of the new move - announced at the Paris Air Show - Boeing said it will unveil later this week orders and commitments for more than 240 737 Max 10 jets from more than 10 customers.

"We are continuing to see strong energy in the marketplace", said Muilenburg, predicting that new orders should roughly match deliveries this year.

"We've essentially completed 30 percent of our flight-test program", Wayne Tygert, Boeing's deputy chief project engineer, told FlightGlobal. They ensured SpiceJet was revived again and became strong, therefore when we made a decision to place a new order, we chose to stick with our Boeing and I don't think they will let us down. The Max 10 "has the same capacity as our competition, flies a bit further, has better economics".

He added that SpiceJet evaluated the A321neo before placing the original MAX order. "The decision to exercise our option for an additional 15 737 Max 8 aircraft is a clear illustration of confidence in Monarch's future success".

Over the last 24 months, SpiceJet's load factor has been over 94%.

The 190-230-seat 737 MAX 10 aircraft will boast more seats and a revamped landing gear. Overall, CFM engines power more than 12,000 737 aircraft, making it the best-selling engine/aircraft combination in aviation history. This is the fastest growing aviation market in the world today, but despite being the fastest growing market only 3% of Indians fly.

"We have had a lot of cancellations, especially to the four countries that did this illegal blockade, but we have found new markets and this is our growth strategy", Chief Executive Akbar al Baker told Reuters. He says to expect orders and commitments for more than 200 airplanes during the air show.

"This strengthens our ambition to satisfy our customers' demand for an aircraft they truly value due to its economics, operating efficiencies and high levels of in-cabin comfort and innovation", Angus Kelly, AerCap's CEO, said in a statement.

In an Associated Press interview at the opening of the Paris Air Show, where the F-35 made its acrobatic debut, Brigadier General Select Todd Canterbury said the jet's displays are to "showcase the capability to all of our European partners and North Atlantic Treaty Organisation allies" and "to reassure them that we are committed to North Atlantic Treaty Organisation 100 percent and that we have got the capability to respond to any action necessary".

SpiceJet now has a fleet of 55 planes, comprising 35 Boeing B 737s 20 Bombardier Q400s.
