Celtics trade No. 1, expect to get man

Danny Ainge did the most Danny Ainge thing ever, trading away the top overall pick in Thursday night's draft to move down to No. 3 while also acquiring another future first rounder. He believes Ainge will make the pick, and is leaning toward Duke forward Jayson Tatum (who worked out for the Celtics on Monday) over Kansas forward Josh Jackson.

As far as the Cavaliers go, I fully expect them to trade for at least one pick somewhere in this draft.

So the way he looks at it, the deal is a win-win. After finishing with the No. 1 seed in the East this season, they are trying to package some of their picks for an established star that could help them close the gap on National Basketball Association finalists Cleveland and Golden State.

Boston, meanwhile, could potentially own the draft rights to seven first-round selections over the next three seasons.

And through all the trials and tribulations, it seems that the Sixers will finally get their man, and their second-straight number one overall pick.

Mr Kempthorne said: "We were making as much noise as we could outside to wake people up, but we woke them up to die". The tower was built in 1974 and contained 120 flats thought to be home to between 400 and 600 people.

Regardless of what moves they eventually decide to make, the trade between Boston and Philly will certainly solidify a long-standing rivalry to return back to its competitive days.

Paul George let the Pacers know he wants out of IN, so will he end up with LeBron IN Cleveland? Let us know what you think in the Huddle! After Fultz's workout with the 76ers on Saturday, the franchise had seen enough to make the decision to make a deal with the Celtics that would allow them to draft Fultz at No. 1. It was agreed to in principle at that point, with the last holdup being the customary league approval on the terms. If the Lakers hold a pick between No. 2 and No. 5 next season, Boston now gets that one as well. Otherwise, the Celtics will have a choice of first-rounders in 2019 - either from Sacramento or Philadelphia, whichever pick is higher.

If Ainge's goal was to gather even more assets for an even bigger trade for a proven talent, Mannix adds that Markelle Fultz the player is a much better trade asset than a future protected pick. "But we're not afraid of that". Fultz would join a Philadelphia roster that includes Simmons, Jahlil Okafor and 2017 Rookie of the Year finalists Joel Embiid and Dario Saric.

With Thomas, though, the Celtics didn't necessarily need a point guard - which is the piece Philadelphia apparently wanted most.

The 6-foot-4 guard averaged 23.2 points, 5.7 rebounds and 5.9 assists in 25 games during his lone college season at Washington, excelling on a team that finished 9-22 and lost its final 13 games. He was the top freshman scorer in the country.
