The game's prologue acts as a prequel to Hitman: Codename 47, while the main game takes place seven years after the events of Hitman: Absolution. In what comes as good news to all Hitman fans, IO Interactive is now making the start of Hitman free for everyone.

The first level of the game, The Playground, is now free for PC, Xbox One and PlayStaiton 4.

If you've always looked longingly at Hitman, but didn't want to shell out the cash without trying it out first, you're in luck.

"I'm proud to announce that our first hello as an independent studio is to invite all gamers to play the beginning of HITMAN for free".
