Nate Diaz shared with us his reaction to today's Mayweather/McGregor fight announcement and of course, it was nothing short of hilarious.

Deadspin said, "McGregor has roughly as much chance of beating Mayweather in an actual boxing match as you do of beating Kobe Bryant in a dunk contest".

White added: "I don't think it damages the brand or Conor McGregor at all, I think it actually elevates him".

Most observers are less impressed and do not expect the fight to be competitive: Mayweather was listed as a -1100 favorite at the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook, meaning bettors would have to risk $1,100 on Mayweather to win just $100.

And early estimates are that as many as 5.5m purchases could be made before Mayweather and McGregor fight, despite the seeming mismatch. 40-year-old Mayweather is 49 wins without loss and has fought and beat some of the best names in the business, including Canelo Alvarez, Oscar De La Hoya and Pacquiao in the biggest fight in boxing history to date.

Taking just a few steps outside the building could see him arrested and subject to extradition proceedings to the United States. Assange had scheduled a press conference Monday, which he was expected to hold from the balcony of the Ecudarian embassy.

This could be the biggest spectacle in combat sports history, and McGregor's fellow MMA fighters shared their excitement on social media.

After months of speculation, unbeaten icon Mayweather has agreed to come out of retirement to take on UFC star McGregor in his boxing debut at the T-Mobile in Las Vegas on 26 August.

Things got a little heated during the interview as ESPN commentator Stephen A. Smith said the boxing community was "disgusted" by the fight. "One shot can change the whole outcome [of a fight so] we damn sure ain't taking Conor McGregor lightly [because] when he touches people, it has a tremendous impact". On Wednesday, White made a proclamation for the ages about what would happen if McGregor lands the flawless shot and does what no one else has done, which is to defeat Mayweather.

Ellerbe concluded: "Conor McGregor is a terrific guy, he's amusing as hell to me". McGregor has a huge following and he is the highest-paid athlete in the UFC because his fights sell bigger than anyone else's. "He will go after Floyd Mayweather and he will try to knock him out". When Conor hits people, they go. Not saying Mayweather is going to win.
