A year out from the World Cup in Russian Federation, there has never been a better time for the Socceroos to poach a first win over Germany at a major competition on the fourth attempt.

Of course, another reason for Australia's slow start was that Germany were simply very good.

The young German side triumphed in a thrilling encounter against Australia as they were brilliantly lead by Julian Draxler and picked three crucial points.

While the World Cup has been around since 1930, the Confederations Cup is a relatively young competition. The players they will rely on though will include the likes of Wenger and Leno to lead the team to a victory here.

While nearly no one takes the Confederations Cup seriously, Germany coach Joachim Low has managed to turn this year's edition into the Rodney Dangerfield of soccer tournaments - by giving it no respect at all.

While some may argue that Germany should've been less generous in letting the opposition score, what matters is that they still managed to out-class Australia and brought themselves back in the game and Draxler has truly proven that he not only talented but also a good leader under pressure.

They demanded to meet officials, and when their demands were not met they forced their way into the building. The fire has led to national soul-searching about inequalities and neglect of the poor.

On the other hand, a strong showing from the Socceroos would give them much-needed confidence.

"Going onto the world stage and competing at a level".

Germany immediately went in search of a third goal after the break and got what they were after in the 48th minute when Goretzka beat Mathew Ryan with a powerful volley after a brilliant pass from Joshua Kimmich. We'll be ready for it. The Daily Telegraph quoted Postecolgou as saying.
