OIC 'condemns use of force' by Indian forces in Kashmir: Pak

In occupied Kashmir, people burst firecrackers in Srinagar and other towns to express their joy on victory of Pakistani team against India in ICC Champions Trophy.

Reports from south Kashmir districts of Anantnag, Shopian, Kulgam and Pulwama as also from north Kashmir districts of Ganderbal, Bandipora and Kupwara indicated that the celebrations were widespread in the Valley.

Amid celebrations, residents in many places including the capital Srinagar accused the forces of smashing cars and beating up people for celebrating Pakistan's win. "That is also the reason we support Pakistan", she said.

When Kashmir hosted its first global cricket match, an ODI between India and the West Indies in October 1983, the Srinagar crowd had raucously supported the visitors.

Insha, who had become the face of the security forces' atrocities during last year's unrest, added joyously: "Pakistan are winning and people are celebrating".
