Pence's communications director Jarrod Agen said in a statement.

Cullen will not be paid with taxpayer money, an aide said. His attorney said that Pence's office directed him to "make certain that whatever method [of payment] is used is compliant with all federal law and regulation".

"We want to people to know as Hoosiers we do not support Pence and the policies that he represents", Annette Gross, an organizer of the protest said.

A final decision was made to hire Cullen earlier this week.

Cullen - who has experience litigating the Iran-Contra investigation, Watergate and the 2000 vote recount in Florida - is a former United States attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia. The FBI is actively investigating ties between the president's campaign and a hostile foreign power.

Be smart: Trump, notorious for his litigiousness in NY, is playing an inside-outside game: stockpiling talent to protect him legally, while publicly trying to discredit the investigators and whatever they might eventually say or do.

He also was entangled in the events leading up the dismissal of Michael Flynn, Trump's former national security adviser, who originally misled Pence about his contact with Russian officials - incorrect claims that Pence himself then repeatedly publicly. This move is not surprising considering that President Donald Trump has been building his own legal team of outside lawyers to represent him through the investigations.

Florentino Perez 'hasn't spoken' to Ronaldo about exit rumours
Ronaldo spent six seasons at Old Trafford before he left to join Real Madrid in the summer of 2009. When quizzed on Mbappe, Perez added: "We know that his dream is to play for Real Madrid ".

Trump ultimately fired Flynn for misleading the vice president.

A source familiar with the Mueller investigation confirmed the report, saying an examination of possible obstruction of justice charges was "unavoidable" given testimony by former FBI Director James Comey, although the issue may not become the main focus of the probe.

Vice President Mike Pence will travel to Central and South America in August.

A sitting vice president choosing to hire an outside lawyer is not without precedent. Caldwell Butler, who helped draft the impeachment articles for President Richard Nixon. He resigned from office in 1973.

The Washington Post also recalled that the appeal of the Vice President to the services of a private lawyer is not unprecedented. Our role as an independent, fact-based news organization has never been clearer.

"We're especially thankful for the courageous police officers that ran into danger without regard to their personal safety", Pence said.
