Trump is mad online about being investigated for obstructing justice

In his testimony on June 8, Comey told the Senate Intelligence Committee that he believed Trump had fired him over his role as lead of the FBI investigation into Russian interference in the US election and Trump campaign associates' possible ties to Russia.

The meeting comes a day after lawmakers questioned Justice Department officials about the probe and Mueller's independence, and after a friend of Trump said the White House was considering firing Mueller. Unfortunately, the same can not be said for the president and those who surround him.

The obstruction of justice investigation into Trump began days after Comey was sacked on May 9, according to people familiar with the matter, the Washington Post said.

Trump also attacked the media Friday morning. A day later, Rosenstein appointed Mueller, who was at the helm of the Federal Bureau of Investigation during the September 11 attacks, as special counsel.

Trump may be referring to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who in a memo to Trump raised concerns over Comey's performance. A spokesman for Trump's personal attorney had strong words in response to the news.

Also unclear was whether the president's comment confirming he was under investigation was based on direct knowledge or media reports that Mueller is examining whether the president obstructed justice by firing Comey last month.

"The message the President is sending through his tweets is that he believes the rule of law doesn't apply to him and that anyone who thinks otherwise will be fired", she added. "That's undemocratic on its face and a blatant violation of the president's oath of office".

Trump's tweet Friday reflected the first official confirmation that he is being investigated by the special counsel for the reasons he fired Comey last month.

A few hours later, Trump again tweeted, this time attempting to divert attention toward his former rival, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, first saying: "Why is that Hillary Clinton's family and Democrats dealings with Russian Federation are not looked at, but my non-dealings are?"

Earlier this week, the investigation led by Mueller appeared to move closer to Trump.

An hour later, Trump fired off another tweet, saying: "You are witnessing the single greatest WITCH HUNT in American political history - led by some very bad and conflicted people!"

Mueller's investigators have asked for information and will talk to Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats and National Security Agency Director Adm. Mike Rogers, according to a source, who said they have also sought information from recently retired NSA Deputy Director Richard Ledgett. But in what appears to be an attempt to mock the report, Trump may have inadvertently confirmed it. "Witch Hunt", the president wrote in his tweet.

"They made up a phony collusion with the Russians story, found zero proof, so now they go for obstruction of justice on the phony story", Trump said in a tweet shortly before 7 a.m. "Regulations way down, jobs and enthusiasm way up!"

White House aides have been instructed to not talk about Russian Federation investigation, but that doesn't apply to the President.
