In addition to hanging by her teeth, Mrs. Wallenda performed other stunts from her lyra, or ring, including hanging from it by her feet.

Erendira Wallenda with her own rich circus lineage stole her husband's title - from 300 feet above the raging waters of Niagara Falls. Erendira's stunt will be attempted on the five-year anniversary of Nik's tightrope walk across the falls.

Erendira broke a record her husband set in 2011 by hanging from his teeth 250 feet in the air.

The aerialist wife of daredevil Nik Wallenda spent about eight minutes of the 10-minute stunt hovering over the falls.

The mom of three took off for the falls just after 8:30 a.m. and was soon putting on her aerial performance in a suspended hoop above the mist.

The trapeze artist Erendira Vasquez Wallenda will try to accomplish the feat on 15 June. "I just feel blessed".

Nik said he continues to hold out hope to create a permanent facility and family entertainment centre in Niagara Falls, N.Y. where people can try to do "outrageous things like we do in a safe setting". While the rest of us are content to see Niagara Falls from the safety of the sidelines, this family goes to great lengths to have the best seats in the house.

The Wallendas have talked about opening a Wallenda-themed entertainment complex in Niagara Falls for several years, but there has been little, if any, public progress.

"Continue to not push on and not give up", Nik said.

Erendira Wallenda discussed her plans for the stunt during a news conference Wednesday morning on the American side of the Falls. "That was way more windy than I thought it was going to be". "That's fantastic. That's awesome".

"If a guy can do it, a girl can do it too", she said.
