North Korea tests rocket engine linked to nuclear missile programme

Separately, Pyongyang yesterday said the death of USA university student Otto Warmbier soon after his return home in a coma was a mystery.

The U.S. Missile Defense Agency said this week another test of its shoot-down capability failed on Wednesday night. "But for some reason that I do not know, this entire THAAD process was accelerated", Moon added.

A University of Missouri professor who has been studying North Korea's illicit cash flow for more than a decade said the Trump administration will likely need to go after that money before Kim is interested in negotiating with the US, though Sheena Greitens warned it wouldn't be a simple task. Various reports, such as one from the BBC, say this long-range weapon can hit ranges greater than 8,000 km - a distance which could put parts of the risk from a North Korean attack.
