In a bid to boost VR adoption, Google has developed Blocks, a VR app that lets you easily create handsome 3D objects in no time and is available for free for HTC Vive and Oculus Rift.

Alphabet's Internet giant just unveiled the Blocks VR app, which, as the folks at the Googleplex points out, will help you "easily create 3D objects in VR". "That software also requires building 3D objects on a 2D screen - something our brains aren't wired to", Google said in its blog.

"Blocks is simple enough for anyone to use, even those without any prior modelling experience". The idea is that users will feel like they are playing with children's blocks rather than working with complex 3D software.

Not so long ago, Apple showed off its grand plans for virtual reality and augmented reality at the Worldwide Developers Conference. For complete novices, we're opening the door for them to make 3D models much more easily and naturally, by creating in 3D space instead of on 2D surfaces.

Starting with a simple set of shapes, a colour palette and an intuitive set of tools, a user would be able to quickly create nearly anything he/she can imagine - from a piece of watermelon to a whole forest scene. Blocks takes the simplicity of Tilt Brush and injects it into 3D object modeling, letting users build, export and share their cool little creations on the web.

Get Blocks for free starting today on Oculus Store and Steam.
