Chelsea midfielder, Nemanja Matic is desperate to sign for Manchester United and has even told his teammates that a move to Old Trafford will interest him, according to Daily Express.

Matic helped Chelsea to the Premier League title in 2016-17, the second time he has claimed that particular trophy since being brought back to England by Mourinho in January 2014.

Adding to his squad will come as a blessed relief to head coach, Antonio Conte.

Chelsea are close to making their third signing of the summer after agreeing a £40m fee for a Tiemoue Bakayoko.

The Frenchman has been linked with a £35m move to Stamford Bridge all summer, and today the Telegraph stated that a move was almost done.

The towering midfielder joins Diego Costa in opting not to travel with speculation that the forward is in talks with Atletico Madrid.

De Mistura: Direct Syrian Talks in Upcoming Rounds
The main opposition High Negotiations Committee says political transition means the departure of President Bashar al-Assad. De Mistura said Assad's negotiators had not given any indication that they were willing to discuss transition.

This led to an outburst of pleas from Chelsea fans for Bakayoko to "please stop trolling", with some noticing he'd also followed Manchester United on Instagram, as well as Red Devils stars Marcus Rashford and Eric Bailly.

And Neville is surprised to see Chelsea actually considering selling the 28-year-old this summer.

The Blues may favour Matic moving to Serie A. United's purchase of striker Romelu Lukaku from Everton may strengthen the resolve of Chelsea not to sell to a direct rival and reunite the Serbia midfielder with Jose Mourinho.

The 22-year-old was at the heart of Monaco's midfield in their UEFA Champions League semi-final run and Ligue 1 triumph last season and now it looks as though he will be a Chelsea player shortly.

After the Serbian international's contract negotiations with Chelsea stalled in the past few months, he expressed his desire to leave the club where he has since been training on his own at the club's Cobham base.

Chelsea have made just two signings so far this season, capturing Willy Caballero on a free transfer before landing Antonio Rudiger from Roma for £34m.
