Vettel completed a single installation lap and then returned to the garage where Ferrari removed the device and switched attention to its weekend programme.

"I got a bit dizzy", the 30-year-old said.

The trail, which was done during practice for Sunday's British Grand Prix, marked the first time an F1 driver has tested the new concept.

The clear screen is being developed by Italian company Isoclima, which makes products for a number of other high-profile racing series.

Asked if he was able to easily get in and out of the car, Vettel added: "For sure it doesn't help".
