The NFL has suspended Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Michael Floyd without pay for the first four games of the upcoming season for violating its substance-abuse policy.

He spent one day in jail that was ordered by an Arizona judge after he failed a number of alcohol tests, which violated his house arrest terms. The tea allegedly caused Floyd to test positive for alcohol while on house arrest.

Yesterday, the National Football League handed down two suspensions, one to Vikings wide receiver #Michael Floyd and another to Rams wide receiver, Mike Thomas.

The Minnesota Vikings now know how long they will be without their new free-agent signee Michael Floyd.

His blood-alcohol level was.217 when police arrested him after finding him asleep at a traffic light behind the wheel of his running vehicle. The 27-year-old was arrested for DUI, then promptly released by the Arizona Cardinals.

Floyd will be missed for the first quarter of the season. Last season, Floyd was a letdown for the Cardinals, recording only 33 receptions for 446 yards and 4 touchdowns in 13 games.
