The DIG Prisons said she was ready to cooperate with the investigation called by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. "But, repeatedly approaching the media is prohibited and we have issued a notice to DIG (Prisons) Roopa for violating the rules". Siddaramaiah, has announced that a committee headed by retired IAS officer, Vinay Kumar, has been formed to look into the allegation of two crore rupees bribery scandal that had reportedly happened at the prisons department to provide undue facilities to beleaguered Tamil Nadu leader, Sasikala. She says that she is willing to co-operate with the probe all the way, but insists that it be thorough and fair.

Meanwhile, D Roopa Moudgil, DIG (Prisons) of Karnataka, who exposed the VIP treatment being given to AIADMK leader VK Sasikala, on Friday alleged that she was being singled out by the State Government for doing her job.

D Roopa had accused some senior jail officials at the Bengaluru central jail of receiving Rs 2cr from Sasikala to set up a special jail kitchen and providing other VIP facilities to the former aide of late Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalithaa.
