During an appearance on an ESPN podcast this past spring, McMahon said Rousey and WWE would be "a match. made in heaven" and "hopefully one day we'll have that opportunity [to work with her]". As MMA Junkie reports, the event, which focused around a "Women of UFC" discussion panel to celebrate Fight Week, drew in professional fighters from all over.

Now 30, Rousey enjoyed great success in UFC and dominated the women's bantamweight division with 12 consecutive victories, but two recent and destructive losses to Holly Holm and Amanda Nunes have left her considering her career in MMA.

The self-proclaimed "Four Horsewomen" of MMA were live at the Mae Young Classic tapings this Friday night, and came face-to-face with the Four Horsewomen of the WWE. A 32-woman wrestling tournament, the Mae Young Classic may become an annual competition, which may explain why the WWE sent out invitations to this year's debut. The first four episodes of the tournament will be released on Monday, August 28th via the WWE Network but there will also be a "Mae Young Classic: Bracketology" preview special on the WWE Network after SummerSlam goes off the air on August 20th. Now that Shayna Baszler, Ronda's former training partner, has signed up to wrestle for the WWE, Ms. Rousey might be more willing to compete herself. Now she's un-retired, and she's hoping to win the Mae Young Classic in a true redemption story.

Rousey has appeared on WWE television before, and enjoyed her own Wrestlemania moment in 2015 when she and The Rock engaged in a verbal and physical battle with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon.
