Russian-American Lobbyist Attended Meeting Organized by Trump's Son

A former veteran of the Soviet army, who has always been part of a pro-Kremlin lobbying effort in Washington, said he also attended the June 2016 meeting between Donald Trump Jr. and a Russian lawyer. He said he served in the Soviet military in a unit that was part of counterintelligence but he was never trained as a spy. Four other individuals reportedly attended the meeting.

"This is obviously very high level and sensitive information but is part of Russian Federation and its government's support for Mr. Trump", the initial email read. That's when your campaign has go-getters who follow paper trails and old media reports to deliver potentially damaging information about a rival candidate.

President Trump maintains he did not know about the meeting until just before his son released the emails.

The White House had no immediate comment about the NBC News report of a Russian-American lobbyist at the meeting. Although Trump Jr. has insisted that Vesenikstaya mainly wanted to talk about Russian adoptions, Akhmetshin said she brought a folder with information about an American hedge fund operating in Russia that she believed was funneling money to the Democratic National Committee.

Krauthammer had remained skeptical about President Donald Trump's connections with Russian Federation during the campaign, but in his latest column, he argued that "bungled collusion is still collusion".

On Thursday, President Donald Trump deflected some of the blame to former Attorney General Loretta Lynch. Remember, Trump may have participated in crafting a statement covering up the real reason for the meeting.

Kombucha Defense Fails To Spare Michael Floyd From Suspension
Last season, Floyd was a letdown for the Cardinals , recording only 33 receptions for 446 yards and 4 touchdowns in 13 games. The Minnesota Vikings now know how long they will be without their new free-agent signee Michael Floyd .

Although Trump Jr. Confirmed that Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya attended the meeting, he did not disclose the presence of Akkmmetin. A comment quoting the sentence was automatically deleted from the comments on a story titled "Trump administration appeals Hawaii court ruling on travel ban", though another comment posted less than a minute beforehand from the same account could be seen. The source did not provide the names.

That effort at obfuscation, too, was blown up when the emails themselves came to light. Abbe Lowell, a prominent attorney, will now represent Kushner in Russia-related matters and says his client will cooperate with the investigation.

Charles Grassley had written a letter to John Kelly, the secretary of Homeland Security, describing Akhmetshin as "a Russian immigrant to the United States who has been accused of acting as an unregistered agent for Russian interests and apparently has ties to Russian intelligence".

But some of the communications aides, including press secretary Sean Spicer, and other senior staffers have expressed reservations.

This week Trump Jr. revealed that he attended the meeting because he had been promised some incriminating information about Trump's opponent, Hillary Clinton. This, as a former Trump campaign adviser testified on Capitol Hill. And Trump's deception efforts should themselves now receive more intense scrutiny.
