'The Incredibles 2' Takes Place Immediately After The First Film

But those aren't the only highly anticipated sequels to be featured and discussed at the animation panel today, with John Lasseter taking the time to further tease the fourth installment in Pixar's beloved Toy Story franchise. Huck Milner will be voicing Dash.

We got our first look at Wreck-It Ralph 2, where the arcade gets a w-ifi connection and Ralph and Vanellope are sucked into the internet, an update on The Incredibles 2, which will return to Brad Bird's original superhero universe, and an extended look at Coco, inspired by Día de los Muertos. Incredible more often staying home to take care of baby Jack-Jack, whose superpowers - then unknown to his family - were revealed in a clip that showed him battling a raccoon with help from skills such as walking through solid objects, shooting lasers from his eyes, and coolest of all, multiplying into many Jack-Jacks.

One of the unique things about the Incredibles is it's really a story of a family set in the world of superheroes.

There were no new plot details, but we saw scenes from the directors' and producers' research trip to Iceland, Finland and Norway. It may not be much to go on, but this news about Elastigirl really leading the charge is incredibly exciting, full-stop.

"Toy Story 4" has already been well-reported - it's not coming out until June 2019 - but Lasseter did share one bit of news: he's stepping down as co-director and his former co-director Josh Cooley will helm it alone.

Fast forward to now, and Pixar's new film. Toy Story 4 opens June 21, 2019.

Due this fall, Coco is the most imminent of Pixar's current films, but Lasseter also took time to reveal the opposite as well: a new, as yet untitled project in early development with an interesting hook. They said that music will include the talents of songwriter Germaine Franco, and Robert Lopez and Kristen-Anderson Lopez (Frozen). Lasseter previewed a short clip of what the fashion world thinks of Edna Mode - stylist to the super heroes, who was first introduced in the original 2004 film.
