Ander Herrera has played his way into becoming a key part of Mourinho's Manchester United side and is now one of three Spaniards in the Red Devils' dressing room.

In turn, that means the 27-year-old could earn £41.6m over the course of the deal, as he becomes one of the highest paid players at Man Utd having proven his importance last season after establishing himself as a key figure for Mourinho.

New Barcelona manager, Ernesto Valverde has targeted the player as a signing he would love to make as a midfielder for the Camp Nou outfit, but United have stood firm in their resolve not to let him go, meaning that the Catalan giants will have to look elsewhere for a midfielder.

"There's no truth to Barcelona because I'm very happy at United".
