The award named after legendary linebacker Dick Butkus has been presented by the Butkus Foundation in every year since 1985.

Western Kentucky senior wide receiver/punt returner Nacarius Fant has been named to the Paul Hornung Award Watch List, the Louisville Sports Commission announced Monday morning. Forty-six student-athletes made the cut for this year's watch list. Entering his junior season, Moore has tied a Maryland record for most touchdown catches through two years with nine (tied with Stefon Diggs, Jermaine Lewis and Dan Bungori).

Edwards, Penn State senior Jason Cabinda, Maryland fifth-year senior Jermaine Carter, Iowa fifth-year senior Josey Jewell and IN senior Tegray Scales. He had a season-high against No. 19 LSU with 93 yards rushing and 68 yards receiving.

The 2017 Watch List was compiled by a panel of college football experts based on a combination of 2016 statistics, career performance, SID recommendations, and expectations heading into the 2017 season.
