Ohm Youngmisuk has covered the Giants, Jets and the National Football League since 2006.

Throughout the 2017 Las Vegas Summer League, Lonzo Ball's shoes have been as big of a story as his on-court performance. Ball also had five steals and one block to add to his resume. "I can't wait to go out there and play him". Now, it's hard to take much away from one game, and it's possible that Lonzo Ball simply had his best game so far because he wanted to impress LeBron James, who was in the crowd (in all likelihood sizing up his future competition). Ball electrified the mainly Laker crowd. They've seen everything that they needed to see from the prized rookie.

The move sparked noise on social media, even prompting Cavilers star (and Nike pitchman) LeBron James to post a video to Instagram of Ball's kicks with the Nike catchphrase as the caption: "Just. Do. It". "And there's some great ones, don't get me wrong". It is awesome to watch. He dished out 10 assists, all by halftime, to go with four rebounds in an anticipated showdown with Dallas rookie Dennis Smith Jr.

Lonzo Ball opted to wear Nikes instead of his signature Big Baller Brand ZO2 and had a monster night.

We all remember the classic Spike Lee-directed Air Jordan commercial for its tagline, "It's gotta be the shoes!"

Ball, who had a triple-double and a 36-point, eight-rebound, 11-assist performance in his two previous games, airballed a pair of first-half shots. He headed to the locker room briefly in the third quarter with calf tightness before returning to the bench. The Lakers finished 14 for 26 (54 percent) from 3-point range. "It's just nice to get out there and do that". Johnson stood up and applauded. He was moving the ball, he was throwing it ahead, he had a good pace going, he just wasn't making shots. "You can see what he is all about, and he's a victor, that's what he is". Then he brought the Lakers back from a 15-point deficit to claim a spot in the round of 16 on Thursday against No. 2 seed Cleveland.

Though his 5.0 turnovers per game mean that he could be more judicious, he is getting a feel for new teammates and will always have a few giveaways based on the way he sends the ball through tight windows.

"I didn't know he was there until after the game". "I think that positive momentum is carrying over into summer league and that'll carry over into preseason, training camp and the start of the regular season later this fall".
