Homers too much as Royals fall to Rangers

Lorenzo Cain hit a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning in Sunday's win over the Rangers.

The Royals win finished a back-and-forth battle between the two American League Wild Card contenders.

Somehow, Lorenzo Cain was credited with a single here.

"I saw the ball at the very beginning and the ball just kept going to right field and then I lost the ball", Choo said.

It would be Choo's second-most memorable play of the day.

. Texas found the equalizer on a solo home run in the seventh inning by Mike Napoli off of Ian Kennedy, who worked 6 2/3 innings, struck out six, walked one and allowed two runs on five hits.

A's Trade Relievers Doolittle, Madson to Washington
Unfortunately, his track record (career 3.40 ERA ) is not that of a dominant reliever, but he is competent. He has been a closer in Philadelphia as well, so he brings ample closer experience to the situation.

United Airlines flew Schoolboy Q's dog to the wrong city
His pet, named Yeeerndamean, had been mistakenly switched with another during a layover in Denver and had been sent to Chicago. The airline has faced severe criticism in the past, most recently when a woman's child fainted from overheating.

That would briefly tie the game again before Merrifield-having himself a season, all things considered-doubled home Drew Butera on a ball misplayed by Nomar Mazara. Mazara was charged with an error on the play. It's unclear, and I would say unlikely. The 32-year-old UCLA product, who is 0-4 with a 4.71 ERA in seven starts at home in 2017, has struggled with the long ball, as opponents have swatted 17 homers against him in his 16 turns, encompassing 87 innings.

Joakim Soria could not hold the lead in the eighth. On straight balls, on straight popups, you can have a better chance, but the ball was moving. Alex Claudio pitched a ideal eighth. Whit Merrifield led off with an infield single off Darvish's glove and moved to third on Jorge Bonifacio's bloop single to right.

Pinch-hitting for Butera, Salvador Perez hit a two-hopper to third where Robinson made a diving almost-stop, fumbling the ball and ultimately walking it over to third for the force rather than (potentially) trying to induce a twin-killing against the slow-footed Perez.
